Sonoran desert botanical garden in Arizona

Arizona Botanical Garden

Last week we went to the Sonoran desert botanical garden in Arizona. It’s a place worth to see. It’s quite educative as well as very pleasant. The beautiful plants catch the eyes of every one, old as well as young and even kids too.

Previously I used to wonder as to why and how the desert here is so green and beautiful. The guides were also present there to give all the informations people needed. They were all having good amount of knowledge about every plant, their generic variety, their specific quality, diversity and use. I was even astonished to see the wilderness of the empty steppe at some places, which was maintained very properly.

Know the facts

One interesting fact which I came to know about desert over here is, that the Sonoran desert has two rainy seasons, one in the winter and other some time during summer .In summer it is heavy rain and in winter there is light shower, and because of these two rains there is a diversity in the plantation here .This feature makes it quite different from other deserts, like Mohave desert in the Las Vegas and California. The desert spread in the coastal area of Los Vegas and California are not so rich in plantation because they do not have two rains as in Arizona desert. But these deserts have other advantages, in having many other variations in succulent and other plant species, which lacks in Sonoran desert.

Any way ,if you are in the city of Phoenix or plan to visit this city some where in the spring season, it’s a great miss not to visit this Botanical Garden here .Its a must go place for Plant lover’s.
